The promised "Five Nights At Freddy's" novel spin-off dubbed "The Silver Eyes" has finally been distributed! Game creator Scott Cawthon recently released the 464-page novel of the popular horror game series.
The said novel spin-off is co-written by Kira Breed-Wrisley, where the book recounts the life of a woman named Charlie, he daughter of the proprietor of an "evil fun center" called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
As noted by VG 24/7, the 464-page novel further narrates the adventure of Charlie, as she returned to her hometown, a decade after a frightful incident that involved killer animatronics in the pizza house.
Together with the help of her childhood friends, Charlie will apparently investigate the old pizza place, where they discover that the four grown-up sized mascots, which were built by her father, have a dim mystery and a murderous agenda.
With the release of the said novel, "Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes" has apparently drawn in a lot of criticisms.
According to Christian Today, game fanatics who have read the book have reportedly been disillusioned, as they were hoping to discover clues and answers that lingered when the games series finished.
That said, Scott Cawthon, himself has decided to address the issue and clarified that the novel spin-off is not intended to solve anything and has nothing to do with the games series, by any means.
"The games and the books should be considered separate continuities, even if they do share many familiar elements," said Cawthon, according to Movie News Guide.
The video game designer moreover exhorted readers to read the novel for the sole purpose of enjoying it and stressed that readers shouldn't try their hardest to solve anything, on the grounds that the "Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes" novel is to be enjoyed, not a mystery to be solved.
"Yes, the book is canon, just as the gamers are. That doesn't mean they are intended to fit together like two puzzle pieces," he added.
For those who are interested, "Five Nights At Freddy's: The Silver Eyes" is now available on Kindle beginning Dec. 22, 2015. Meanwhile, physical copies of the said novel will reportedly release anytime within the current year.
