Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder and CEO, posted on his personal account on Jan. 4 his goal for 2016, which is to run a total of 365 miles, and even started a group on Facebook known as "A Year of Running," reported Tech Times on Wednesday.

"I have a physical challenge for 2016," posted Zuckerberg on Facebook. "I'm going to run 365 miles, and I'd love for as many people in this community to join me as possible."

Everyone who wishes to accept Zuckerberg's challenge could join the Facebook group and basically take it one mile a day for the entire year.

"This is a lot of running, but it's not a crazy amount," said Zuckerberg in his post. "It's a mile a day, and at a moderate pace it's less than 10 minutes of running per day."

Unsurprisingly, many people have already accepted his challenge with over 85,000 members already joining the group in less than a week from Zuckerberg's big announcement.

The 31-year-old seems to be a fan of the activity as he was photographed running several times in different locations, including in Palo Alto in July 2012, in Delhi a few months ago, and even in Xi'an Ancient City Wall in China on October.

Of course the social networking genius would attract attention and received a few criticisms as well.

"Mark Zuckerberg is a heel striker  ... and an over strider, and extends his knee way too much," tweeted a Bartold Biomechanics spokesman. "I predict a short running career unless he gets help!"

"He'll find running easier if he uses a shorter stride," suggested Bart Yasso, Runner's World chief running officer. "His legs are out in front of him, which is not a good way to go. Overstriding is an absolute way to get injured."

On another note, Zuckerberg also added a "personal challenge" that may be a little bit more challenging for the tech billionaire as compared to his fitness challenge.

"My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work," Zuckerberg posted. "This should be a fun intellectual challenge to code this for myself. I'm looking forward to sharing what I learn over the course of the year."
