Twitter's rumored 10,000 expansion of character limit has evidently been a standout among the most talked topics in the online world today and has apparently gotten a mixed criticism from numerous users.
Reports on Twitter's development on character limits surfaced following CEO Jack Dorsey, who posted a picture to Twitter that indicates the content itself.
"We've spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screenshots of text and tweeting it," said Jack Dorsey, according to Forbes. "Instead, what if that text.. was actually text? Text that could be search. Text that could be highlighted. That's more utility and power."
The rumored new 10,000 character limit will reportedly take effect toward the end of the first quarter of 2016.
Hence, numerous fans were quick to lament the said revamp as they stressed that the new character limit takes away something that was one of a kind about Twitter.
"For many people, Twitter has become an invaluable tool for work. Its real-time nature means that it has been a key platform when news events are taking place and developing," as quoted on Gadget 360's report.
"And because of the 140 character, mostly text nature of Twitter, it's proved to be very useful when data speeds are limited or when Internet is unreliable," the site further claimed.
Notwithstanding that, various clients were allegedly worried that it would turn out to be more open long-frame essays like those found on Facebook.
In any case, new reports ensured that the social media site is attempting to ensure that the smooth configuration of the platform proceeds as before. "For tweets that are longer than 140 characters, users will have to clock and expand to see the rest of the text," Re/Code reported.
The social media site, Twitter, has evidently stunned its users as it continues to update the site for the delightment of the fans. One of its most recent update includes changing stars button, which means favorite, to hearts - which infers like.
