Perhaps the scariest game to hit the PS4 and set to make the word "horror" more than what it actually means, Silent Hills release date is one that gamers have been closely monitoring. Will it be available to all gaming platforms?
This question has been answered in a live stream from Konami at last year's Tokyo Games Show. The stream was translated by JunkerHQNet in a series of tweets. Summarizing the info:
The demo of P.T. was only available on the Playstation Store thus the rumors of the game being PS4 exclusive. However during the stream Hideo Kojima mentioned that the technology of the PS4 and Xbox One make all their ideas possible. Meaning, Xbox One is not yet out of the equation.
To add up, in a report by Crossmap, Hideo Kojima revealed more of the game's features:
"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only. Either way we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left."
He added that the game having an open world is a likely and is being discussed due to use of Fox Engine.
"All I can say is that Fox Engine is meant for open world I cannot discuss more on the game design itself in detail yet."
Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus can't help but admire the brains behind this game, Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro.
"I'm super excited to be a part of Silent Hills. Both those guys are geniuses at what they do. We haven't shot the 'heavy stuff' yet. Kojima approached me right after Guillermo did."
Rumor has it that Konami is aiming a Halloween 2016 release for Silent Hills as it would be no doubt the ultimate trick or treat experience.
